Tasha was my first born, a beautiful child with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was born with a rare
chromosome disorder which meant that through her short life, she was totally adult dependant for all
of her needs.

On Christmas day this year Tasha was taken into hospital with a chest infection and was ventilated
two days later. Fortunately for us she did come off the ventilator after three bouts of pneumonia.
Just as we were getting ready to bring her home, she developed another chest infection and this time
the antibiotics wouldn't work.

Tasha fell asleep forever, peacefully, in my arms on 19th February 2008 at 3.45 a.m. and my last
words to her were "I love you to the Moon and back".

There is a great void in my life now despite my wonderful husband and three beautiful perfectly
healthy children.

Her funeral was beautiful, a gorgeous pink coffin and her family carried her into church with Ronan
Keatings "If tomorrow never comes". We listened to Robbie Williams "Angels". Tasha left church
with Bon Jovi's "Its my Life" which was Tasha's message to all those she left behind to enjoy your
life to the fullest - Life is like an open highway - be free and enjoy.

I miss you so much my darling little angel, but take some comfort knowing you are in a better place,
peaceful and with a body that now works properly for you.

Sweet dreams my angel, you are the brightest star in the sky and we love you so very much.

A tribute to Tasha from my very good friend Nicky. Nicky read this tribute in Church.

Tasha was a very special girl who touched the hearts of everyone that met her. Tasha was loved by
her family and will be sorely missed. In those times of loss and dispair, Helen, Simon, Lauren,
Liam and Jack, you could look to the night sky and see Tasha's star, shining bright. You'll know
it's the one that shines brightest because your mum asked me to get my polish and shine it up so its
nice and sparkly.

I was lucky enough to be with her and her family in her last few days. Tasha fell asleep on a cold
night in February, Helen, Simon and Julia were with her at her bedside. I came soon after and was
privileged to be able to help the lovely nurses prepare Tasha for her journey to Heaven. We brushed
and plaitted her hair, washed her and dressed her in her pyjamas and pink wooly socks and wrapped
her up in her new pink spotty blanket.

Tasha is a bright star in Heaven now and will be watching over the family she left behind. I know a
little piece of Tasha will live on in each of their hearts.

And so farewell for now Tasha Lou. We will see you again soon. But until them watch over us and
sparkle bright in the night so that we know you
are with us always.

Tasha

All those of us who were privileged to meet Tasha in her short life are aware of how she touched so
many people's hearts.

Tough your time was short, I will always cherish the times I spent with you. When I whispered in
your ear and touched your face, you always gave me that special smile. Mention chocolate and your
mouth would open and that made me smile.

Tasha you were unique, a beautiful young lady, one of themost special places in my heart is saved
for you.

Pink is your favourite colour and chocholate your favourite food. I smile thinking of you sat on
your pink cloud eating chocolate and listening to your favourite musis, Bon Jovi, well maybe mum's
favourite music.

Sweet dreams my special friend, love you to the moon and back, but then Jack your little brother
would say to the universe.

See you in heaven Tasha x

This is a poem that my son Liam wrote for his big sister two days after she fell asleep and was
included on the Order of Service sheet.

For Tasha

Hey Tash, it's sad without you
We will come every day looking for you,
Yes, on the very brightest star
You will travel far.

We love you to the moon and back
And our caring for you shall never slack
We will remember your pointy fingers
On that star that always lingers.

While you are gone we shall keep track
But, Tasha don't turn your back

I will score a goal just for you at the next match

(And he did score!)

Gift of a child (Poem read in church by Tasha's Aunty Sharon) Although my sister Sharon has barely
spoken to me since Tasha went to heaven.

I’ll lend you for a little time
A child of mine, he said,
For you to love her while she lives
And mourn for when she’s gone.

It may be six or thirteen years,
Or twenty-two, or three,
But will you, till I call her back
Take care of her for me?

She’ll bring her charm to gladden you
And should her stay be brief,
You’ll have her lovely memories
As solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.

I’ve looked this wide world over
In search of teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lane
I’ve decided upon you.

Now will you give her all your love
Nor think the labour vain
And hate me when I come to call
To take her home again.

I fancy that I heard them say
‘Dear Lord thy will be done,
For all the joy, this child will bring
The risk of grief, we’ll run.

We’ll shelter her with tenderness

Forever grateful stay.

And should the angels call for her
Much sooner than we planned,

Miss Me But Let Me Go


When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no tears in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little – But not for long

Remember the love that we once shared,

Though happily each year began
I had to die whilst very young
It is so long since our last touch
And I miss your presence there so much
Of many things I needed to learn
So to this place God made me turn
Yet with so many things to do
I have taken this moment to speak to you
The life that was, was not to be mine
Yet within this world it has worked out fine
Where I am now I have found new friends
In a place called Heaven where the spirit ascends
Straight to this world few pass it by
And no one here can really die
Although this child you cannot see
I know you'd be so proud of me
I look forward to when I'll see you mum

Candles in the Night

Candles flame in darkness,
Flicker, steadily glow,
Bringing light from shadows
And help to soothe me so.

My daughter, like the candles,
Gave my life true light,
I use the candle's beacon
To connect us in the night.

As I light the candles,
My wish and my request
Is that she'll see my signal
And know my love's expressed.

As her light joins my lights,
Our worlds touch and flame.
